How To Find Top Keyword- Keyword Research Trends That Matter In 2017

Keyword Research Trends That Matter In 2017

Despite what you’ve been hearing, keyword research isn’t dead. Without keywords, there is no SEO… right? Let’s look at the facts.

93% of online experiences in 2016 started with a search, and the search starts with words. Keywords will remain relevant as long as people use words to interact with search engines. The only thing that has changed are the additional factors that have influenced how we use keywords for SEO.

The truth is that search engines are no longer looking only at keywords, but also value many other factors. Keywords are now just a miniscule part of the pie. That is not to say that keyword discovery isn’t important. In fact, it is important in the way you go about it: we need to go levels deeper – to the precise level that users are searching for, and search engines are indexing for.

This post will focus on the three main focuses of valuable keyword research in 2017:

(1) user intent
(2) long-tail keywords
(3) Google voice search

User Intent

User intent is critical to keyword research and discovery in 2017. Marketers need to understand how to work together with search engines to provide the content users really want. After all, it’s not about attracting visitors to your site, but the right kind of visitors.

So what exactly is user intent? User intent refers to “a user’s ultimate objective or goal” in making a search query. Every single search query has an intent, a goal, perhaps a problem the user wants to solve.

For example, a search query of “Chandigarh to Delhi” gives me flight schedules. Adding “travel” to make it “Chandigarh to Delhi travel” does not only provide me with flight results but bus and car information as well.

Adding one word to a search query greatly impacts the results of the search as Google automatically recognizes the change in intent. In fact, Google refines its algorithms 500-600 times a year to get user intent right. And if Google is focusing on it, so should you.

You need to make user intent central to your keyword research. It is critical that you understand your user’s goals when they make search queries. This understanding or lack of it could make or break your organic traffic.

The great thing is that user intent is pretty easy to figure out the longer the search query is. Long queries give us a lot of information on what a user exactly wants so we can give it to them. They also enable us to get targeted organic traffic for long-tail keywords. Speaking of which…

Long-Tail Keywords

I’m sure you’ve heard long-tail keywords uttered over and over again by marketers in 2016 (and even before). It looks like it’s set to dominate 2017 as well. I’m sure you’re already familiar with long-tail keywords, being that you’ve been focusing on them, but let’s cover the basics first before we delve into how to successfully incorporate it into your SEO strategy.

What are long-tail keywords? Long-tail keywords are search terms with four or more words. In fact, 51% of all search queries in 2016 contained four or more words (source).

So where should you start off on finding relevant long-tail keywords for your business? Well, you need to first find actual terms that are being used in your specific industry or field.

You don’t need to use the expensive keyword research tools to get a good list of long-tail keywords. There are some free keyword research tools that will give you a good list to start with. Keyword Finder (suggests long-tail queries and search volumes but only allows a few daily searches) and Keyword.io (suggest long-tail queries but does not provide search volumes) are free (but limited) tools you can start off with if you’re on a budget. And of course, there’s always Google’s very own Keyword Planner that’s integrated into Adwords.

By far the best premium keyword research tool is Moz Pro’s Keyword Explorer. You start by searching your main keyword and it will return a comprehensive list of keywords that you can rank for relevancy and search volume. From there, you can go down the list and pick out the long-tail keyword phrases or search queries. The great thing about the Keyword Explorer is that you can click on any long-tail keyword to generate a new list of queries related to that keyword. The new list features more long-tail queries than the initial list.

Google’s Voice Search

Perhaps the most interesting development in keyword strategy is Google’s voice search and natural language capabilities. According to Google, 20% of mobile searches are now voice searches! This trend is quickly taking and has prompted Google to create answer boxes and Knowledge Graph panels. Here you can also find a fun infographic regarding the matter.

Let’s take a look at how natural language, both spoken and typed, has changed search. For example, users, like you, used to search for “keyword research”, but now ask, “what is keyword research?” or “what is the most effective keyword research strategy?” You can see the change from keywords to long-tail keywords or queries. Voice search capability is quickening this development in SEO content marketing.

So how can you keep up with this development to plan an effective SEO content marketing strategy?

(1) Look at the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for your industry or brand and match this to your existing content. Do you have pages or posts that address those questions? If so, make sure that the questions are put forward in a very natural way and are highlighted on the page.

(2) Create an FAQ page for questions that you can answer in a couple of paragraphs. Answer the questions in clear, concise and natural language.

(3) Try and come up with long-form content for the questions by breaking them up into “What, when, why, how, who and where?” components. Create subheadings for each so that search engines can index them and users can easily find the content.

Wrapping Up

A good understanding and grasp of user intent, long-tail keywords, and Google voice search will help you better refine your keyword, and overall SEO, strategy for 2017. Start to figure out what your audience really wants so you can begin communicating with them in the best way as soon as possible.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Monetizing Your Blog With Affiliate Marketing

How do you monetize your blog?

If the answer is Advertisement, then I know you have a hard time generating money from your blog unless you have tons of traffic.

When I started blogging, I thought Adsense is good enough to make some serious money from my blog. But the reality was different. Adsense requires a lot of traffic to generate some good amount of money.

As I didn’t have a lot of traffic, I started looking for other monetizing methods. Then I came to know about Affiliate Marketing.

At that time, I didn’t find any step by step guide about monetizing blog through affiliate marketing. However, I was able to learn some basic affiliate marketing tips from different blogs (for example, for Amazon affiliate marketing, I’m following Market ever).

After having some ideas about affiliate marketing, I started trying it on my blog. It took almost six months to get my first affiliate sale. It seemed a slow process to me.

Recently I’ve bought a new blog and monetized it through affiliate marketing. I followed some steps that I’ve learned from my four years of blogging journey.

If you want to monetize your blog with affiliate marketing but don’t know where to start, this post is for you.

In this post, I am going to share those 7 steps that I followed to monetize my new blog through affiliate marketing.

Step #1 – Check If You are Already Promoting Products/Services That Offer Affiliate Programs

If you’ve been blogging for few months, chances that you’ve already linked to a number of recommended products/services on your blog posts that have affiliate programs.

The easiest way to get started with affiliate marketing is to find those products/services and join their affiliate programs. As you are already sending traffic to those products/services, it will be easier for you to earn affiliate commission from them.

Now let’s see how to find those affiliate programs. Follow these simple steps…

At first, you need to find where you are sending traffic from your blog. You can use Jetpack stats to see which links users clicked to leave your blog. Just install Jetpack plugin and connect it with your WordPress.com account. Most of the features of Jetpack including ‘Site Stats’ will be activated automatically. You need to give it few days to collect data for you. However, sometimes one-day data is good enough to get started.

If you are already using Jetpack plugin, that’s awesome. Just go to your WordPress dashboard and click on “Site Stats” from Jetpack.

You will find a “Clicks” section there showing external links that users clicked.

Then click on “Summaries” to see the overall clicks.

Now you have the list of sites where you are sending traffic. Make a list of those sites that offer products/services. Then go to those sites one by one and look for a link (mostly on the footer) that says “Affiliates”, “Affiliate Program”, “Become An Affiliate” or “Referral Program”. Follow the link and sign up for their affiliate programs.

You can also search on Google to check if there is any affiliate program for a particular product/service. Just search for terms like “[Product/Service] Affiliate Program” or “[Product/Service] Referral Program”

If there is an affiliate program for searched term, just join the affiliate program. If you haven’t found any affiliate program for the product/service, just set up a Google Alerts for the terms “[Product/Service] Affiliate Program”. You will get notifications about the affiliate programs.

I hope you’ve found some affiliate programs. But remember, just because it has affiliate program doesn’t mean you should promote it. You have to make sure that you are promoting the right products. If you end up promoting a bad product, you will loose TRUST of your audience which is very important for affiliate marketing. So choose wisely.

Now join the available affiliate programs that seem right to you. It might take some times to get approved by Affiliate Program.

Keep a list of the affiliate programs that you’ve joined.]

Step #2 – Find Relevant Affiliate Programs

If you haven’t found any affiliate programs (or just found a few programs) by following step #1, don’t worry.

In this step, I will show you how to find relevant affiliate programs for your blog.

Finding relevant affiliate programs is very important to get success in affiliate marketing. Just because someone makes huge money from Web hosting affiliate programs doesn’t mean this will work for you too. You have to find products/services that are relevant to your blog.

Here are some ways to find out the right affiliate programs for your blog.

  1. Think of some relevant products/services you like and check if there are any affiliate programs for those products/services.
  2. Do some research on successful blogs on your niche. Discover what products/services they are promoting on their blogs. Take a look at their sidebar banners and resource/tools page. Check if there are any product review posts on their blogs.
  3. Search on Google. If you are running a health blog, search for the term “Health-related affiliate programs”
  4. Use an Affiliate Network. It acts as a mediator between publishers (you) and merchant affiliate programs. It’s a marketplace of affiliate programs. You will get thousands of affiliate programs on a single affiliate network. There are a lot of affiliate networks and here are some best affiliate networks.
  • Shareasale is one of the most popular affiliate marketing networks that has over 3900 affiliate programs. It has affiliate programs for almost every niche.
  • ClickBank is the best marketplace for digital products. It has digital products for every niche.
  • CJ Affiliate by Conversant (formerly Commission Junction) is one of the oldest networks.
  • Impact Radius is very popular for tracking, reporting, and payment.
  • Amazon Associates is the biggest affiliate program offered by Amazon. If you are planning to promote physical products, join Amazon associates.

ShareASale is an Affiliate Network that is used by thousands of bloggers.

Make a list of relevant affiliate programs for your blog. And start joining them one by one.

Step #3 – Cloak Your Affiliate Links & Add Those Links Automatically into Your Posts

I hope you already got approved by some of the affiliate programs you’ve joined.  If you haven’t got approved by all programs immediately, don’t worry. While some affiliate programs approve immediately, others might take some times.

Every affiliate program provides you a unique affiliate link to track your sales. This link may look something like this:

http://partners.xyz.com/c/214426/177309/3094

This is pretty ugly and scary. You’d not love to add this link to your blog posts.

What you can do is cloaking the affiliate link. It means masking the affiliate link. Your cloaked affiliate link will be something like this:

https://earnwebtech.com/go/xyz/

It looks good and it’s easy to remember.

Like everything, you can do it by using a WordPress plugin. There are a lot of affiliate link manager plugins out there.

I am using ThirstyAffiliate to manage my affiliate links. It’s very easy to use. Just Install the plugin and go to WordPress Dashboard > Affiliate Links > Add New.

Yes, it’s that much easy.

I’ve seen a lot of bloggers not to cloak affiliate links. It’s a huge mistake!

If you don’t cloak your affiliate links, you’ll be in trouble when one of your affiliates decides to change its affiliate link. Recently HostGator has moved its Affiliate Program to Impact Radius from in-house. As an HostGator affiliate, I have to update all HostGator links with the new affiliate link. It’d be tough for me if I wasn’t using an affiliate link manager plugin.

So cloak your affiliate links right away.

Now let’s see how to add affiliate links automatically to your blog posts.

As you weren’t in affiliate marketing from day 1 of your blogging journey, chances that you’ve linked to recommend products/services several times. But those were just plain links, not affiliate links. Those won’t generate commission for you.

It’d be tough for you to find those links and replace those links with affiliate links one by one.

Here’s an easy way. Thirsty Affiliate has an add-on named Autolinker that will do it for you.

ThirstyAffiliate Autolinker scans your all blog posts and replaces all specified keywords into affiliate links. Just setup your affiliate links with a list of Keywords and it takes care of the rest.

However, it’s a premium addon-on which costs $49 AUD (about $35 USD). But it worths your money.

Once you’ve installed the add-on, you will notice “Autolinks Keywords” section when you’re about to add a new affiliate link. Just specify the keywords that you want to replace with affiliate links.

You can also add Keywords to your old affiliate links. Just edit those links.

You can select the number of times you want Autolinker to add affiliate links.

Automatic affiliate linking will surely increase your revenue.

Step #4 – Use An Affiliate Aggregator Service

If you write about many topics on a single blog, then you will have to join a lot of affiliate programs to monetize your blog properly.

It will be time-consuming. On that case, you might consider using an affiliate aggregator service like VigLink which will automate access to thousands of affiliate programs.

VigLink is connected with more than 30,000 affiliate programs. It converts your website’s outbound links into affiliate links. It also adds links to products or brands within your content.

For example, if you mention the word “iPad” on your blog post, VigLink will automatically add an affiliate link to this word. You don’t have to join any specific affiliate program for that. VigLink will take care of that.

If you mention lots of products name on your blog posts, I’d suggest you to start using VigLink on your blog.

Step #5 – Update Your “Most Popular Posts” With Affiliate Links

No matter how you have been blogging, some of your posts will be generating more traffic than others. Those are the most popular posts of your blog.

These posts can help you to generate affiliate sales. All you have to do is adding affiliate links properly to your most visited posts.

Here’s how to do it.

  1. At first, login to Google Analytics/Jetpack/Clicky or whatever you are using to track your visitors.
  2. Find the most visited posts of your blog. If you are using Jetpack, just go to WordPress Dashboard > Jetpack > Site Stats and click on “Summaries” from “Top Posts & Pages”.

3. Make a list of top 10 posts and start with the first one.

4. Review the post and look for affiliate opportunities. But don’t be aggressive.

5. Check how other bloggers are monetizing the same topic post.

6. If you haven’t found any relevant affiliate links for the post, at least, try to link a post which you’ve monetized with affiliate links.

7. Do the same for other posts.

I’d suggest you not to be aggressive while adding affiliate links to your most popular posts. If there is no relevant affiliate link for the post, just keep as it is. But you can optimize the post for subscribers, social exposure etc.

Step #6 – Write Blog Posts That Generate Sales

By now you should have a good idea of what products/services to promote on your blog. But if you don’t know how to promote it properly, you won’t be able to increase your sales.

Now I’ll be sharing few blog post types that generate sales.

Review Posts – Though product reviews shouldn’t be written just for the sake of affiliate sales, but you can expect some sales from your reviews. Just make sure that you are honest with your reviews. No product is perfect. So don’t hesitate to write the cons of the products.

Here are some essential tips for writing product reviews.

  • Write pros and cons of the product/service.
  • Share your personal experience how you use the product.
  • Use keywords like price, problem, and review to generate traffic from Search Engines.
  • Give rating to the product. I use WP Rich Snippets Plugin to do that. It will increase your CTR.
  • Add a clear recommendation.
  • Share special discounts or free trial if there is any.

Comparison Posts – These posts are very effective for affiliate marketing. People often search for comparison between products. You can take this advantage.

Just pick two products that are very similar and people get confused about which one to choose.

For example, HostGator and Bluehost are two best web hosting companies. People often search for the term “HostGator Vs Bluehost”. You can help people to choose one and expect some sales.

‘How to’ Posts – These are the most popular posts on the internet. You can use these posts to generate affiliate sales from your blog. For this, you have to find out how your affiliate products/services can solve others’ problems. And write ‘How to’ posts based on affiliate products.

You can also write List Posts, Alternative List Posts etc to generate sales. Just be creative.

Step #7 – Drive Traffic to Your Affiliate Links

The more traffic you drive to your blog, the more affiliate sales you’ll generate.

The key to getting success in affiliate marketing depends on driving relevant traffic to your affiliate links. When I say driving traffic to affiliate links, I mean driving traffic to your blog and it will automatically increase your affiliate link clicks.

Here are some tips for driving traffic to your blog.

  1. Write better titles.
  2. Do keyword optimization.
  3. Write SEO Optimized posts.
  4. Blog consistently.
  5. Leave comments on other people’s blogs.
  6. Be active on social media.
  7. Be creative.

Your Turn

Affiliate Marketing can be the best way to make money from your blog if you can do it rightly.

If you follow the steps in this post, I guarantee that you will get your first affiliate sale very soon.

However, learning affiliate marketing monetization in one post can be a little overwhelming, so leave a comment if you have any questions.

Hiver The Most Popular Products Built For Gmail And Google Apps

Email is not a good way to manage projects — Hiver hopes to change that. Gmail is my personal favorite email client, and for good reason. But there’s always room for improvement. If you’re a heavy, everyday user of Gmail (like I am), you know for a fact that there are some things lacking when it comes to following up on emails with clients or with people in your team or turning emails into tasks. Because let’s face it: Emails are as good as tasks and follow-ups are a pain. Hiver fixed that for me and my team. Here’s how.

  • As much as we try to prevent it, email all too often becomes a default storage place for important business information.
  • Hiver is a Chrome extension (used by Uber, Lonely Plant, CBS Interactive and Pinterest among other well-known companies) that turns Gmail into a project management and communication tool.

Snooze & Schedule Emails

Sometimes, you just aren’t ready to respond to an email. And thanks to a busy schedule, leaving it until later may mean leaving it until never.

With Hiver, you can snooze emails until a later time or date, so you’ll receive it all over again at a time when you’re prepared to act upon it.

Plus, instead of clicking ‘Send’ after you type up an email, you can schedule your emails to be sent at a later date. Perfect if you don’t wish for it to be sent right away.

Share Labels and Mailboxes

Hiver is an excellent tool for collaboration, and it proves that by allowing you to share email labels, and thus sections of your mailbox.

You can share emails by just adding a label to them, making emails act as assigned tasks between team members. This works across all major email clients, including Gmail, Outlook, Thunderbird, iOS, and Android.

As you share labels, certain areas of your mailbox are then shared with your colleagues, allowing them to notify you when tasks are completed.

Email Templates, Reminders, and Notes

When it comes to marketing, sometimes you have to re-purpose emails. Hive lets you write an email once, and then save it as a template You can also share those templates with your colleagues to save them time, too.

If you need to be reminded of anything, you can also use Hiver to send you a reminder at a certain time.

Furthermore, Hive gives you a small section within each email thread to make notes, which can also be shared among your team members.

Collision Detection & Useful Design

Have you ever responded to an email, only to realize that your colleague has just done the same? In the best case scenario, it looks unprofessional. In the worst case scenario, it could cost you business.

Hiver allows you to see if your team members are typing responses to emails you’re already responding to, so you can avoid embarrassing (and potentially costly) double-response situations.

Personally, though, I think Hiver’s best feature lies in its design.

Unlike other Gmail extensions – which sometimes add nothing more than clutter to Gmail’s interface – Hiver doesn’t get in the way of your day-to-day tasks. It injects small buttons and sections where necessary, working around Gmail’s existing design to add value, rather than complicate the interface.

Hiver has premium plans, but it’s free for up to three users, making it ideal for startups and small businesses.

Plus, since it’s nothing more than a Google Chrome extension, Hiver is quick and easy to get rid of if you don’t think it’s bringing value to your business.

How to install hiver?

When you click on that blue-green button that says ‘Install Hiver for Gmail’, you will be prompted to install the Hiver extension. Here’s how it looks like for Chrome. Obviously, you have to click on ‘Add extension’ if you want to start using Hiver.

Here’s how it looks like for Firefox.

After the installation is complete, make sure that you’re logged into Gmail in the same browser. If you are, Hiver will automatically redirect you to Gmail in 5 seconds.

When you are redirected, you will immediately notice two things:

  1. The Hiver logo, notifications icon and settings icon will be in the upper-right section of your Gmail interface
  2. There are new ‘labels’ created by Hiver on the left menu section

Hiver creates custom, shared folders that apply filter people and projects.

Improve team interaction

Hiver features a notes tool so users can add context to a message, comment on how to best handle a response or update a deal’s status.

Google Contacts can be shared within Hiver to allow teams to access the same people, like clients and vendors, when needed — there’s no messing with separate permissions.

Hiver also alerts folder managers when someone responds to an email under a shared folder.

This prevents people from sending duplicate messages or burdening a contact with too many emails. It also demonstrates to clients that your team is put together and organized.

Emails become tasks by merely adding a specific label, alerting the assignee immediately.

Another label will share a message with a teammate, and notes can be left for the assignor who wants it handled.

Hiver makes managing projects in Gmail smart, simple, and organized.

Control messaging

Creating and deleting folders, separating family from business messages and deciding when to hit “send” all make the once-simple act of email management increasingly burdensome. I’m always looking for ways to improve how I handle it.

Hiver includes a message snooze option that can let you put off when to respond. And its folders and tags quickly put messages in the right place.

The tool has scheduling and draft collaboration (currently in beta) features so teams can work together on important messages and be sure they’re ready to go.

Plus, you can save messages as templates or create new ones. This is a great option for formalizing how teams respond to new clients or send marketing-related messages.

Hiver is currently a Chrome extension, but a Safari version is in the works, as is an iOS app and an Outlook extension.

Have you tried any Gmail boosting tools? Let us know about them in the comments section below.

5 DIY Tips Make Money With Google AdSense – Tested Tips

Arm yourself against making the typical newbie mistakes and read our tips below so that you’ll know just how you can make some good cash off of AdSense.

1. Where Does AdSense Make Sense?

Perhaps the biggest mistake that those who use AdSense make is that they throw ads on every type of website imaginable. Don’t waste your time, effort and ads on sites that won’t be bringing in the cash.

Let’s take a tech info website for example. If you run a site that provides high-level tech advice, then there’s a very low chance that anyone visiting your site will bother with your AdSense ads. Why? Because these people just don’t generally click on those types of ads. They know about AdSense, and they didn’t come to your website for anything but the information written on your site. They want answers to a problem, and then they want to get out.

Let’s say you have a website that’s more geared towards sales, however. This would be a better type of site to have ads on as people will be far more likely to click on the advertisements you put up.

It may take a bit of trial and error since some niches tend to do better than others when it comes to these types of ads, but generally speaking, if your blog or website is about selling things, then AdSense will work better for you.

2. “SmartPricing:” Anything But Smart

Whenever possible, you have to avoid Google’s “SmartPricing” scheme. With SmartPricing, Google gives advertisers a discount based on how popular or “valuable” your website is. They tend to base this on your site’s click through ratio.

So if your website has a high click through ratio, then the perceived value of your site is high so then the cost per ad click is higher. If your click through ratio is low, however, the value of your site is “low” so you get less money per click. The difference between a SmartPriced site and a non-SmartPriced site can be anywhere from a couple cents to several dollars in difference.

One way to avoid this is to post your AdSense ads only on your older posts. Why? Because anyone who regularly visits your site isn’t going to click on your ads. If you post them on your older posts, however, you’ll be able to possibly keep your click through ratio pretty high. There are a lot of resources out there about how you can change the coding of your website or blog to keep your ads only on your older posts.

Another way to avoid the dreaded SmartPricing is to display your ads to those who have landed on your page through a search engine only. You can again tailor your blog using the “function” file to change where the ads are displayed.

3. Choose The Best Keywords

Google is all about keywords, so in order to make the biggest profit, you need to choose the best CPC keywords out there. You can use a number of great tools out there to help identify what the high paying keywords for your niche are, and there are several lists supplied for free.

Keywords also determine what kind of ads are going to show up on your website or blog. Nothing’s worse than visiting a website that’s cluttered with ads that don’t even make sense. Target your keywords so that you’ll be able to “influence” what types of ads will show up on your blog or site. Make sure that these keywords are on your website or blog entry, but BE CAREFUL. If the keyword density is too high, you WILL be penalized by Google and can even be tossed out of their AdSense program.

TIP: Read Google’s terms of service. Once you’re out of the program, you’re pretty much out for good. Follow the terms of service, stay in their good graces, and write great content so you’ll continue to get visitors who’ll click on your ads.

4. Choose Big Ads

AdSense advertisements come in a variety of formats, so you can tailor the formats to see which works best with your blog. Having an advertisement that looks good on your blog or site is important, but keep this in mind: the large 336×280 rectangle sized advertisements has long proven to give the best payout. Maybe this is because the ad is right in any visitors face, or maybe it’s because that size can display video ads (which are increasing in popularity). Either way, it may be a good idea to start out with an ad around that size.

5. Monitor Your Success

No matter what you do with your blog or website, you need to keep track of how successful your ads are doing. If you don’t monitor your ads, then you will ultimately fail. You’ll be able to pinpoint which ads work, which don’t, and over time you may discover that certain ads work best at certain times throughout the year while others work best at other times.

One of the best things that we can suggest is that you look at your top 1/5 of pages, and then you take a look at your bottom 1/5 of pages. Why are the top 1/5 of pages making more money? What are you doing right? Try to take what seems to be working with the top 1/5 of your pages and then incorporate those ideas and methods into the bottom 1/5.

You’ll also be able to quickly see whether or not your chosen keywords are making money. If your keywords aren’t working, change them up! You should always do a top keyword run at least once a week to make sure that your site is up to date and current.

The Importance of Keyword in SEO: A Beginner’s Guide

Utilize the best possible catchphrase and you will get more web crawler movement.

Upgrade your site/blog catchphrase and it would help you rank quicker.

How often have you got such exhortation when you have begun to find out about SEO? Watchwords are the primary thing that you ought to know and find out about when begin to enhance your blog SEO. This guide is composed for a fledgling like you to comprehend a principal idea of SEO and i.e. Watchwords and their significance.

We should begin with the nuts and bolts and on the off chance that you have been blogging for some time, your 95% of activity is originating from 5% of your posts. What I intended to state, you will get greatest web index activity on few hand-picked post of yours. Have you ever addressed why these posts are getting so much movement? You probably accomplished something right. Is int it?

The reason is, unconsciously some of your posts are positioned on the principal page for watchwords that are profoundly looked by clients internationally or in a particular district of the world. The thing that you have to think here is, who is the one positioning your substance? Before the day’s over, it’s a machine dialect (Algorithm), which searches for specific signs to rank the substance.

When I say positioning of the substance, what do I implied by positioning? In this unique circumstance, it implied positioning for a particular catchphrase. Give me a chance to rearrange the case for you.

You can go to SEMRUSH web page and sort your blog deliver to see which catchphrase your blog entries/pages are positioning for. Here is a case from one of my prevalent blog.

Try to understand the concept from the image. (Even if you don’t understand 100% of it at the first time, don’t worry as this is normal for a beginner).

  • Keyword: This is the Keyword, which is driving traffic to a specific URL of my blog. (We also call it target keyword, or keyword one is trying to rank for).
  • Pos.: Position of the keyword in Google search. Your target should be rank on the first page of the Google for your target keyword.
  • Volume: This is another important aspect as it helps you to understand how many people are searching for a keyword in a month. Try to see this as more human than in technical term. When you go to Google to look for a solution, similarly others look for a similar solution, but they may be using a different term than yours. Google keeps a data of how people are searching & let you see the number of monthly searches for any keyword. This way, you will be able to find the keyword that gets more searches than a keyword that gets fewer searches. In the above example, you can see two similar keywords have a considerable amount of difference in monthly search volume:
  1. Free professional email address: 110 searches/month
  2. Free professional email: 70 searches/month

I will let you know how to target keyword at the later stage, but at this time try to grasp the most fundamental part of SEO.  While we are on it, you also need to understand two more terms:

  1. Short tail Keywords: Short keywords those are 1-3 words. Ex: Make money blogging, Professional email
  2. Long Tail Keywords: More specific keywords that could be three words or longer.Ex: How to make money blogging, How to get professional email

Any words are qualified as a keyword when it has a considerable amount of searches (Search volume) in a month.

Long tail keywords are more profitable as you will drive more targeted traffic & your chances of ranking on the first page are higher. More on this later, for now understanding the all the terms is more important. If you have missed something, it’s ok to go back & re-read the concept of Keywords in SEO.

It’s true that writing quality posts will help you to drive traffic, but have you ever asked yourself why you are still not ranking in Google searches for any keyword, or why your quality posts stop getting traffic after some time has passed?

What is the importance of keywords from the perspective of SEO?

If you have understood the basic concept of Keywords, now let’s dive into a little deeper into it. When we SEO optimize a blog post or a web page, we have the option to define our target keywords. This is most commonly known as Meta_keywords. Back until 2012, it was important to specify Meta_keywords (Keyword you are targeting), but in 2016, it’s not of any use. A search engine has become smarter to auto-detect keywords & rank your pages automatically.

Google has already made it clear that they do not consider meta keywords when selecting keywords, and this makes sense because many bloggers who are new to blogging or article writing add lots of keywords in their posts.

For example, one would write the following meta keywords for this post that you are reading: “keywords tips, SEO, keyword research”, and so on.

Now ask yourself – would anyone who is searching for “keyword tips and tricks” want to see this article first? Personally, I would not like to rank for these keywords, because people will land here and then leave the blog. This will impact my bounce rate, and also my average time on site.

How to start with keyword research:

Keyword research is the process of finding the right keyword in your niche. This step is important if you wish to grow your blog/website in a shorter span of time & make money. There are various ways by which you can find keywords & here I’m outlining few based on my preference.

SEMRUSH:

This is an online tool that let you find great keywords, or you can also put in URL of a website, & it would show all the keywords that website is ranking for. (See the 2nd screenshot of this article, which is taken using SEMRUSH).

A good idea is to start by picking the top blogs in your niche & add it to see which Keyword those sites are ranking for. From here you just need to start building unique & high-quality content around those keywords. This is a paid tool but you can get 15 days free trial.

Keyword tools:

  • Keyword planner tool (This is free but not as simple as SEMRUSH)
  • LongTailPro (This is another keyword tool that you can download on your desktop)
  • Ahrefs: This is an alternative to SEMRUSH

How to use Google instant search for quick keyword ideas:

You can also use Google Search to find your target keyword, like this. Google auto suggest search query when you type anything, and it’s a good place to start the primary search. You can create a list of keywords using this technique & use SEMRUSh or Google keyword planner to check the search volume for all the keywords.

Once you have found profitable keywords, your task is to write an SEO optimized article for your target keywords. You can follow this guide to understand targeting keywords on a particular post.

Keyword density and keyword placement

Keyword density is a complex topic. This Wiki article will give you a fair idea of how keyword density is calculated. Depending on the target keywords, (long tail or short tail), you maintain a particular percentage of keyword density. When bots crawl your page, they can determine the density that which particular keyword page should rank for.

Keyword targeting is important but stays away from keyword “stuffing”, which is the overuse of keywords on a web page, as this will ultimately be harmful to your ranking.

Different SEO ninjas have different ideas about keyword density, but your main keyword should not be more than 2% of the article length.  I try to keep it between 1-1.5%, along with related search terms or that are known as LSI keywords.

Do remember, you can target more than one keyword on a blog post or a page. I would suggest don’t keep it more than three as; if your content is of high quality, you will rank for indirect long-term keywords.

What does keyword stuffing do?

Stuffing your articles with keywords is never a good idea. Overuse of keywords alerts Google bots to the fact that you are “spamming” your post by stuffing it with unnecessary keywords. Google penalizes for this action, as spiders are alerted to the fact that you are trying to trick the system by using lots of keywords many times. This can affect your ranking.

So be wise when you select the number of keywords you are using for SEO. Particularly since Google Panda, I highly recommend that you stop taking SEO actions that do not appear to be natural. If you are not sure about your SEO practices, use our free forum or email subscribe option to ask a question.

Meta title, meta description and meta keywords:

Now you have searched for a perfect keyword, and you are delivering it into a post or a page. Try also to use that keyword as part of the title of the post.

One additional tip: Try not to use numbers in your permalink, because in the future if you want to extend the article by adding plugins or sites or additional information, your number will no longer make sense.

Adding a relevant meta description will give more insight about your page to search engine bots. I suggest that you use your keyword in your meta title, meta description and meta keyword field along with an H1 tag. Also, try to write more SEO friendly articles by using H1, H2, and H3 tags. However, don’t overuse heading tags, as improper headings and too many H2 or H3 tags can lead to a negative ranking.

Still not convinced?

Here is a post that I wrote as a guest blogger on another blog, using target keywords “Google Panda Penalty“. Read and analyze the post, and you will realize the extent of the on-page optimization I have done to make this post reach the number 1 position in Google. The article is very detailed, and I’m sure it will help you to learn to write better SEO optimized articles.

What next?

Now that you are aware that keywords play an important role in SEO, your first task is to find 5-6 profitable keywords for your next post. You can use the Google Keyword Tool, SEMRUSH  or any other online tool. Write a post on your target keyword, and use any of these Google keywords rank tracker sites and keep track of your keyword positions.

If you find the information useful, please share it with your friends and colleagues on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.

Rank Your Website On First Page 2017 Edition – On-Page SEO Techniques

We are providing you latest techniques and tricks to increasing your site value. For more read the whole article carefully and follow the instructions to make your website visible on google top-10 results.

Do you want to make your post keyword-targeted, SEO-optimized, and ready to drive more traffic?

Would you like to make it easier for search engines to understand what keyword(s) your blog should rank for?

If you answered “yes” to any of these, then you are about to learn the secrets of making your blog post keyword-targeted.

When it comes to optimizing a website or a blog post, there are two main factors at play:

  1. On-page optimization
  2. Off-page optimization

Today’s article will focus on on-page optimization, and I will be sharing lots of good on-page SEO techniques you should implement while working on optimizing your blog posts.

Now, let’s not confuse on-page SEO-optimization with onsite SEO-optimization.

  • Onsite SEO refers to the optimization of the entire website with things like site mapping and setting permalink structures.
  • On-page SEO optimizes content for a target keyword within a single blog post. This includes using proper headings, proper keyword placement, ensuring content quality, and paying attention to many other factors.

Why Do You Need On-Page Optimization?

Now, when some bloggers hear the term “SEO-optimized articles”, they think this is some kind of bad practice.

But it’s not only not bad, it’s necessary.

Here is some food for thought:

  • Why are you not ranking on the first page of search results?

Well, there are likely a lot of reasons, but if you aren’t paying attention to SEO, then that’s probably the biggest reason.

So when we do SEO-optimization of a post, we follow a certain set of proven methods to rank it higher on a search engine.

Now, Google doesn’t only consider on-page SEO score when ranking an article. It also takes into account many other factors like social media signals (shares, likes, tweets, follows, etc.), backlinks, domain authority, and many other off-page metrics.

Our goal with on-page SEO is to optimize an article in a natural, but smart way, so that search engines can easily pick out the target keyword and bring our website targeted visitors.

Before you read more, I assume you know about keywords, SEO, and Metadata. If not, check out these posts:

HOW TO DO SEO FOR PAGE TITLES

5 ON PAGE SEO CHECKLIST FOR YOUR BLOG 2016

According to Searchmetrics, here are the latest search engine ranking factors:

As you can see, a lot has changed over the past several years. While you can clearly see from this infographic that off-page SEO is important, on-page SEO should not be neglected.

In particular, the golden rule still applies:

  • Content is king.

One thing which I would recommend you start doing is adding videos to your blog posts. Videos will not only increase the amount of media on your posts (which will engage users), it will also make your posts that much more informative and content-rich.

You’ll see an example of what I’m talking about in a minute.

10 On-Page Optimization Techniques For Better Ranking in 2017

Before I share some specific tricks, here are a few non-technical things that you can incorporate today:

  1. Improve user experience.
    • Make sure your website is responsive and broken links are kept to a minimum.
  2. Ensure that reader coming from search engines spend a lot of time on your site. If they hit the back button quickly, your ranking will drop quickly too.
    • Make sure your site is maintaining a standard of professionalism.
    • Use proper copywriting techniques to make people stick around.
  3. Create good content.
    • Try using benefit-driven sub-headings to be more engaging.
    • Don’t write fluff.
    • Seek feedback and improve.

So now I’ll share with you the 10 on-page optimization factors you should keep in mind while optimizing your blog posts.

1. Blog Post Title

This is the most important on-page SEO factor. The reason for this is because of the more attractive and optimized your title is, the more people will click. And in general, the more clicks your post gets, the higher it will rank.

You should try to use the targeted keyword or phrase toward the beginning of title (H1) tag, but if that’s not possible, make sure it’s at least somewhere in the title.

You should also not repeat the same keyword more than once in the title tag because you think it will help the article rank higher. It won’t. It could actually hurt your ranking. Don’t do it.

And keep the title length to under 65 characters.

2. Post-Permalink Structure

Making sure your URL is displayed correctly is an important on-page metric. Again, you should use your target keyword in the URL, and avoid using special characters, symbols, brackets, commas, etc. within the actual URL.

Use dashes to differentiate the strings in your URL structure. These are called “pretty” permalinks and are supported by most web browsers.

An example of a good permalink:

3. Heading Tags

You should use heading tags to highlight various headings, sub-headings, and important points.

In WordPress, the title tag is set at H1. You don’t really need to use any more H1 tags anywhere in the article. One is enough. For section breaks, stick to H2 and H3 tags.

Also, don’t use too many H2 or H3 tags as Google’s algorithms won’t like that.

4. Keyword Density

You should keep the keyword density around 1.5% percent with a mix of LSI keywords.

Use your main keyword once in the first paragraph and again in the last paragraph. And use it in the content where it makes sense.

5. Meta Tags

You should add a unique and relevant meta description with each blog post.

Again, you should use your use targeted keyword in the meta description, but don’t keyword spam your description. While search engines pick up on keywords, it’s also important for users to click on the post. You need to write user-friendly meta descriptions that make sense and are related to your post.

With regards to meta keywords, Google has made it clear that they don’t care about them. But some search engines, like Bing, may still care a little.

6. Images

Image optimization does help a lot in driving traffic from image searches.

Keywords in the “image title” and the “alt text” help to make your blog post more focused and targeted.

But more important than that:

Images create engagement.

And the more engaged a user is, the more likely they’ll stick around, thus increasing your overall rank.

But there’s one very important point to note. Large images will slow down your site, and have a slow loading site will decrease your Google rank. So it’s very important to:

  • Compress images.
  • Use a caching plugin.
  • Use a CDN.

For more about how to speed up your site, check out:

7. Word Count Per Post

Blog posts that don’t have a lot of words typically don’t perform well on search engines. That’s because they’re usually seen as being “less informative”.

Of course, there are exceptions, but for a general information-based blog, creating posts with at least 500 words is pretty standard.

It’s always better to be well-researched and overly informative than it is to not provide enough information. This is especially true if you’re targeting highly competitive keywords.

Suggestion: Analyze other posts for your target keyword and see how many words they have.

While there is no “official” count, longer posts tend to rank better because there is typically more information there. For instance, this post is over 2,000 words.

But be careful not to over do it.

For more on writing informative content, check out:

8. Internal Linking

Place links to related posts from your blog inside of your blog posts.

Interlinking of blog posts will help your blog readers spend more time on your blog, and it will also help pass page rank to other pages of your site.

When interlinking, try to use a keyword as the anchor text, but be very careful not to overdo it.

Internal links that are relevant to the original post show search engines that you are providing extra information beyond what is being displayed in the content.

But make sure your interlinking is relevant and necessary.

9. External Linking

Apart from linking to your own blog posts, it is a great idea to link out to external websites as well. Again, only do this if the information on the external website is relevant to the information in your post.

While linking out to external websites, you should link to trusted websites only. And if you have doubts about the authority or popularity of a website, you can use a no follow tag to avoid passing your link juice to potentially bad sites.

You should use do follow links for trusted websites and no follow links for those that are less trustworthy.

But somewhere authoritative like Wikipedia, or CNN, or a major player in your niche, will not only be trustworthy, they’ll likely have relevant content that your readers will love.

This will make your site appear more credible.

10. Write Engaging Content

You should write engaging content. Period.

If you’re trying to get by with low-quality content and “trick” search engines, you will surely fail.

Your post should be a complete manual for that keyword. You should learn how to engage your audience in a way that works for them. Try asking your readers questions and answering them. Understand what they want to read, and then write that.

If you are unable to write engaging content, people will not spend much time on your blog, your bounce rate will increase, and your rankings will plummet.

On-Page SEO Checklist:

Here is a checklist you can use to make sure you are doing everything possible to rank higher in search engines.

Things to focus on:

If you are someone who wants to quit your job and use the internet for making a living, I would suggest to read this article carefully and make a note of things that you could do.

Perhaps you should try different methods mentioned in this article and pick the one that works for you. I have also listed down few sites from where you can get some quick work and money will start pouring in. For the record, initially you might be making money in small chunks, but once you have mastered the field you are working on, you will be making huge.

So, let’s get started with this ultimate list of online money making methods.

How you can start making money on the internet from now on:

  1. Freelancer:

This is the first place that I would recommend you to start with.  At Freelancer you can find various freelancing jobs. Since you are the one who knows what you are good at (Writing, Web-designing, Social media or anything) you can find the job listed by many others, and you can apply for it.

The job varies from $1-$300/hour that is a lot. For the starter, you need to create a free account and start building your profile. What I recommend is to start working at the low price and give your best.

Try to get as many positive testimonials as possible and once you have built a good profile you can start raising your hourly price. oDesk offers help guide for newbies which you can use to learn how to use it and how you can earn more from it.

In simple word, Freelancer com is a marketplace which connects freelancer with others. Personally, I have hired many skilled people from Freelancer and it works pretty well.

2. Become Virtual Assistant:

Chances are you might be an individual who doesn’t have a great skill but you are good at data feeding or doing research work on the internet.

A virtual assistant is a popular kind of job that anyone with limited internet skills can use and make money. In a virtual assistant job, you will be hired by anybody on the internet to do some simple tasks like editing excel sheet, proof-reading, find something on the internet and make a list, clean up eMail inbox to name a few.

This is so far one of the easiest job types you can find on the internet and earn a decent income. Here I’m listing down few resources which will make you learn everything about being a virtual assistant and places where you can find such job.

3. Fiverr:

One of the biggest drawbacks of above two methods is; you need to look for the recruiter. If you don’t find a job which matches your skill-set, you have to be idle.

This 3rd method is for those who have a defined skill set which is unique in nature. Fiverr is a marketplace where you can sell your skills starting at $5 and earn more.

For example, if you are someone who can convert text into speech, or install WordPress or do any other thing which is in demand, you can earn a good income. There are users who are earning more than $50,000 from Fiverr.

If you are wondering what kind of things you can offer to others on Fiverr, you should check out their homepage and browse and see what others are selling. Below I have listed few more ideas that you can use on Fiverr to earn from home.

You can make a free blog on Blogger.  You need to write a post time to time keeping lots of factors in your mind like SEO, marketing of blog, the design of blog etc. and you can attract lots of visitors and after the certain period of time, you can monetize your blog.
